Learn to Turn.
You will learn to choose wood and mount it on a lathe, set up the tool rest, and select the right tool to make something you can be proud of. George will guide you through the process so you understand how to use the lathe. We use and recommend Rikon lathes. Most students make 3 to 4 projects in the class.
This nine-hour class is presented over two days. You will stay overnight at the beautiful, historic General Morgan Inn just one block away. (The class is for one or two people; bring your partner or good friend.)
George was living and teaching in California when he was recruited to appear in a Subaru commercial. In the commercial, he takes a couple out to listen to the whales and walk in the forest at night.
George loves teaching turning and owns several Rikon lathes for his students. He recently renovated an old building in Greeneville, TN, where he teaches, runs his art gallery, and lives.
